Cookie Policy
BRBR GROUP LLC (“Notivo”, “we”, “our” or “us”) keeps its use of cookies deliberately minimal. This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies are, how we use them across our marketing site at notivo.com and the Notivo application at app.notivo.com, and how you can control them. It works alongside our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file that a website asks your browser to store on your device. When you return, the browser can send it back, which lets the site remember things like whether you are signed in. We use the word “cookies” loosely here to also cover similar technologies. For example, local storage, which is a browser feature that lets an application keep small amounts of data on your device. Local storage is what allows the Notivo app to keep working when you go offline.
2. How Notivo uses them
We use cookies and similar technologies only where they are needed to make the Service work. We treat them differently on the two parts of Notivo:
- The marketing site (notivo.com) uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used and to measure the performance of our own advertising. These analytics and ad-measurement cookies are set only after you accept them in our cookie banner. We use Google Consent Mode, so no analytics or advertising storage is used unless you consent. The site also loads fonts from Google as a third-party resource, which does not set cookies (see section 6).
- The app (app.notivo.com) uses an essential authentication/session mechanism so you stay signed in as you move between pages, plus local storage so the app keeps working offline. These are necessary for the app to function.
We use these cookies only to understand usage and to measure our own advertising. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use cookies for cross-context behavioral advertising or to build advertising profiles about you.
3. Cookies we use
The table below lists the cookies and similar technologies in use. Durations are approximate and may vary with your activity (for example, staying signed in refreshes a session).
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Auth / session token | Notivo (via Firebase Authentication) | Keeps you securely signed in to the app and prevents unauthorized access | Necessary | ~30 days |
| App local storage | Notivo | Stores your data locally so the app keeps working offline and syncs when you reconnect | Necessary | Until cleared by you or the app |
| nv_consent | Notivo | Remembers your cookie choice (accept or decline) so we don’t ask you again | Necessary | 180 days |
| _ga, _ga_<id> | Google (Analytics 4) | Distinguishes visitors and sessions to measure site usage and advertising performance. Set only after you accept. | Analytics / measurement | Up to 2 years |
| nv_attr | Notivo | Remembers the campaign parameters (e.g. gclid, utm) you arrived with, so a later sign-up can be attributed to the right ad. Set only after you accept. | Analytics / measurement | 90 days |
4. Categories
Cookies are commonly grouped into the following categories:
- Necessary: required for the Service to work, such as signing in and keeping the app usable offline. Notivo uses these.
- Functional: remember your preferences and settings to give you a better experience. Notivo may use these in the app for preferences such as your settings.
- Analytics: help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. Notivo uses these on the marketing site (Google Analytics), only after you consent.
- Marketing: used to deliver or measure advertising. Notivo uses a limited measurement form only to gauge its own ads (with your consent); it does not use them to build advertising profiles or for cross-site ad targeting.
5. Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or remove cookies and clear local storage. Please note that blocking essential cookies may break sign-in or prevent the app from working properly.
Because the marketing site uses non-essential analytics and ad-measurement cookies, we show a consent banner on your first visit. Analytics and ad-measurement storage stays disabled (through Google Consent Mode) until you accept; if you decline, those cookies are not set and you can still use the site fully. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the nv_consent cookie in your browser, which makes the banner appear again. Essential cookies (sign-in and offline storage) are always required for the Service to work.
6. Third-party resources
The marketing site loads web fonts from Google Fonts (which does not set cookies, though your browser requests the font files from Google) and, after you consent, Google Analytics 4 from Google’s servers. For more on how we handle data and who processes it on our behalf, see our Privacy Policy and the list of sub-processors.
7. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, for example, if we add a new technology or introduce analytics. When we do, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you.
