  • Captures your observations, not employee activity.
  • Readable only by the account that wrote it. Every note is stored under your own account, and nothing in Notivo lets another person open it.
  • Yours to export, yours to delete. One button downloads a complete copy of your data as JSON; another deletes the account and everything in it.

Some notes are only ever for you: a promotion promise, a hard conversation, confidential feedback. Mark a note with @bb or #bb and the whole note goes into your Black Box.

  • Opened only with your passphrase. There is no passphrase reset — if you lose it, Notivo cannot open those notes for you either.
  • Never sent to AI. Black Box notes are held out of insights, search and the assistant until you unlock them.

Private by default

Your notes are private the moment you write them. They’re for you, not your manager, your HR team, or your company.

Yours alone, scoped to your account

Your notes belong to your account and stay there. They are readable only by the account that wrote them.

On secured infrastructure

Your notes are stored on secured infrastructure and kept private by default, scoped to your account rather than shared across a team.

AI only with your consent

AI processing runs only after you accept the AI disclosure, and only on paid plans. Black Box notes are never sent. We never use your notes to train shared models, sell them, or share them with other users.
