Connect Claude in four steps
Claude gives every account one custom-connector slot, so this works whether you are on Free, Pro, or Team.
- In Notivo, open Settings, then AI Capture, and copy your connection URL. It is unique to your account.
- In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors.
- Choose Add custom connector and paste your Notivo URL.
- Back in the chat, plan as usual. Say @notivo to save a plan to Notivo, tagged to the people and topics in it.
Connect ChatGPT
- Confirm you are on a paid ChatGPT plan, then turn on Developer Mode in ChatGPT settings.
- In Notivo, open Settings, then AI Capture, and copy your connection URL.
- In ChatGPT, add a new MCP server and paste your Notivo URL.
- Plan as usual, then say @notivo to save a plan to your Notivo, tagged to the people and topics in it.
Only the plans you mean.
Notivo gives your AI three tools: save_plan, note_about_person, and list_my_topics. That is the whole surface. It saves and lists your topics; it does not browse your notes.
A save-only filter, not a listener.
A saved plan is a regular private note, scoped to your account and stored on secured infrastructure. It is not end-to-end encrypted; only the Black Box is.
Before you connect
Do I need a paid AI plan to connect?
It depends on the assistant. Claude works on any plan, including Free, using its one custom-connector slot. ChatGPT works only with Developer Mode turned on and a paid ChatGPT plan (Plus, Pro, Business, Enterprise, or Edu). That paid requirement is set by OpenAI, not by Notivo. On the Notivo side, setting your topics is free, and saving a plan from a chat is part of the Notivo Plus plan.
Does Notivo read my whole ChatGPT or Claude chat?
No. Notivo only saves the plan you point at with @notivo, and only when it matches one of your topics. It does not read your chat back, it does not save the whole conversation, and it never reads your history. It is a save-only filter, not a listener.
Is a saved plan secure and private?
A saved plan becomes a regular Notivo note, private by default and scoped to your own account, stored on secured infrastructure. It is not end-to-end encrypted; only the Black Box vault is, and the connector never touches the Black Box. Treat a saved plan the way you would any private cloud note.
Which assistants work with Notivo?
Claude works for everyone, on any plan, including Free. ChatGPT works with Developer Mode and a paid ChatGPT plan; native ChatGPT App Directory support is coming later. Any assistant that supports a custom MCP connector can use the same connection URL.
